Channel 4 Panic Attacks

Below is a transcript of Sonyas diary which was published on the C4 website whilst the show was running:

Sunday 6 April 2003

……………..Yet again I got wound up and upset so surprise, surprise I get a panic attack and it spoils the day. I have to go home!

Monday 7 April

Didn’t go to work today. Had a very bad night’s suffering. Didn’t get to sleep till 5am.

Tuesday 8 April

Have booked myself in at 3pm to have hypnotherapy (with Darren Marks) to get rid of the anxiety. Got to do something before it gets really bad.

Its 4:30pm now and that was really great. I was put into a deep sleep and I could still hear him talking but I was so relaxed….. He cleared my system and I felt when I awoke that a great weight had been lifted off. I felt so calm and not stressed.

Every time I feel het up now I have to concentrate on one part of the body – the stomach – then put my thumb and finger together and I instantly feel happy, calm and very, very relaxed. I can’t believe it. Its all about adrenalin and slowing it down. I recommend it to everyone who gets anxiety, panic attacks or claustrophobia. I even went in a lift yesterday! Ha! Your mind is so powerful and this hypnotist changes the way your mind thinks and takes away all bad thoughts and replaces them with happy, confident, calm ones.

Good luck to other sufferers. You can be cured. Go to a good hypnotist. I feel I can do anything now. I feel confident to go on a tube, lift etc and I don’t panic about anything. Before I felt het up al the time but I couldn’t care less now! Go for it! I’m in Sneak magazine now giving an interview about it. I will try and help anyone as much as I can. It shouldn’t be controlling your life. Love Sonja xxx
