Fear is one of the basic, negative but necessary feelings all of us experience from time to time. We feel it for a reason, usually to protect us. Bleeding and cutting yourself or piercing yourself with a sharp object is generally and necessarily considered a bad thing. It is understandable that a part of ourselves could have felt anxious about getting injections or having blood tests, essentially that part of yourself wanted to stop you from getting hurt or feeling pain. What Makes These Hypnotherapy Recordings So Effective?

These hypnosis recordings have been personally written and delivered by Darren Marks, one of the UKs leading hypnotherapists and professionally produced in our studio. Darren is a hypnosis teacher running courses for the ICH at Kings College in London. He worked as a hypnotherapist for The South East Cancer Help Centre for many years and was invited to demonstrate his hypnotherapy skills for The Prince of Wales during a visit of the Prince to the centre. Darren is an elected Fellow of The Institute of Clinical Hypnosis in recognition of his contribution to the Institute and the profession as a whole.

He has been awarded the Senior Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice and is a member of The NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners. Brainwave Entrainment

Brainwaves are representative of electrical activity in the brain, and brainwave entrainment refers to the brain's electrical response to rhythmic stimulation, in the case of the recordings on this website the stimulation is auditory.

When the brain is stimulated through one of our physical senses it emits electrical charges which are converted by the brain into what we see, hear and feel.

When the brain is exposed to rhythm, the rhythm is recreated in the brain in the form of these electrical impulses. If the rhythm is the right speed it can begin to mimic natural brainwave patterns.

When this occurs, the brain reacts by synchronizing to the same rhythm. This phenomena is called the Frequency Following Response (or FFR).

FFR is of great use to us because our brainwaves are very connected to our state of mind. So for example a 4 Hz brainwave is associated with sleep, so a 4 Hz rhythmic sound would help recreate a sleepy mental state. The same applies to practically all mental states, including focus, being creative and so on. It can even assist people to rapidly access deep meditative states which could take years to master without assistance.

If you listen closely, on most of the hypnotherapy recordings on this website, you will hear alongside the vocals, music and other sound effects, small, rapid pulses of sound, designed to help you quickly access a deeply relaxed hypnotic state.

However its important to remember that no matter how good the technology is, your desire and openess to the experience will be the deciding factor and your ability to experience the hypnotic state will likely improve with practise, so please remember to follow our user guidelines.
